Skills Night - Aug-2016 |
Bring a third Monday - August 15th was the latest Essex Skills Night, hosted by CARS at Danbury Village Hall. Despite the summer holidays, Skills Coordinator Pete M0PSX had been arranging some interesting topics/demos... - as well as it being a great opportunity to socialise.
August attendees and activities list
Activities included:-
- Testing: Steve G4GHO and Mike G4NVT had brought their spectrum and network analysers for testing antennas, handhelds, VSWR, filters etc

- QRP CW: Rob M0KCP of Essex CW had brought along a FT817 to show a low power setup and highlight that CW offers benefits for weaker signals, from portable stations etc
- Data modes: Richard G7OED and Essex Ham had a variety of demos of popular data modes, pics of ISS SSTV, 'Getting Started' advice for new starters, and a second chance to see commercial radio station playout software

- Badges: James 2E0JTW and Glynis 2E0CUQ brought their lightweight engraver for both callsign and other badges
