CARS Christmas Party,
The Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society held their annual
Christmas Dinner in The Anchor public house, Danbury near
Chelmsford on Friday, 19th December, 2003.
It was organised by Ken, G7RFT and 33 Members and Partners
attended. The evening was lovely & clear which was a change
We were welcomed by Ken into the warm, cheery, heavily
decorated interior. After drinks from the bar we took our
places at the designated seats.
Grace was said by Tony, G4YTG and we were served our starters.
We were then given a Lemon Sorbet course to "clean our palettes".
The main course was served as pre-ordered.
As last year, John, G8DET issued everyone with a quiz sheet
with clues to London Boroughs - some Crossword people got most
in a few minutes. He then gave out 41 linen bags containing an
assortment of everyday objects with radio items for the men.
When the answers were given noone got the one euro coin.
Chris & his group won with 35 answers correct (or nearly)!.
Ethel won the London Boroughs.
The Sweet was served followed by coffee.
After the quizes, Tony led a festive sing-song and Harry,
G5HF told a story about a ship in 1935.
