Training Success Stories
Nov-2017: Radio Communication Badge
After receiving an invitation to help a pack of
cubs (1st Woodham Ferrers Hyde Cub Pack)
to complete their communicators badge, Jim
Salmon 2E0RMI, Bob Tokley G4MDB,
Kristian Baker M0SSK and Peter M0PSD
went to the pack meeting on Tuesday 14th
November in South Woodham Ferrers.
We arrived at 6.30 armed with handhelds, a
Morse Trainer, Slim Jim, training CQ sheets
and copies of the Morse code and were
greeted by 20 Cubs and their Akela.
The Slim Jim was suspended from the rafters
of the hut. The enthusiasm of the cubs was
great. They all had a go at the Morse trainer,
tapping out S-O-S, before having a go on the
handhelds.
A call was put out on the repeater GB3DA and Steve G8UDD, responded, allowing each cub in turn to
make a contact. We wish to thank Steve G8UDD for all his help and Kristian M0SSK who was busy taking
lots of photos, some of which have been forwarded for their scrapbook.
At the end we presented them with a certificate certifying they had used the radio.
Dec-2017: Morse Key Trainer
Following the previous visit to 1st Woodham Ferrers Hyde cub pack to
help them with their Communicator Badge, CARS Chairman Peter M0PSD and
club photographer Kristian M0SSK went along to the cubs
Christmas party on Wednesday December 13th to present to them a Morse Key Trainer.
The club has also been invited to two further cub packs to help with their Communicator Badges.
