Skills Night - April-2016

Around 60 people turned up for the Monday April 18th Essex Skills Night, hosted by CARS at Danbury Village Hall. The variety of features had both familiar and new items. Coordinator Pete M0PSX even had to table plan it as interest remains high in the event.

Photos of some of the activities at this months event include:-

Jim 2E0RMI had a new TYT TH-9800 quad bander, whilst Nick M0NFE ran M6 Corner

Essex Ham... and Cakes!

Testing Filters, using a spectrum analyser - Mike G4NVT

Essex CW Club had a demo on 80m with an Icom 751

James 2E0JTW & Glynis 2E0CUQ making Callsign Badges - and Charlie M0PZT with SDR Dongles and Goodies

CARS had advice and events info on hand and presented
Steve M0SHQ with a speakers mug for his CARS Satellite talk

Other activities (alas no photos) included Internet security by Nick M0NIB and Summits On The Air (SOTA) by Peter G1FOA

Our famous Quiz had another batch of 'interesting' questions - which had been cooked up in the 'White Horse' the week before. Pictured is a Marconi H2 connector on a 170W S-Band watercooled coax load, as referred to by Question-7.

Our thanks again to Ann Salmon, David G3SVI and Myra M0MYR for the excellent refreshments all evening.
