Introduction

CARS were present at Sandford Mill on Sunday 27th September for the annual Science Discovery Day. The mild sunny weather prompted a good turnout including plenty of youngsters and was ideal for our outdoor demos. The annual Science Day event this year had a theme of light, astronomy and space.

In the main building GX0MWT was operating on HF with CW/SSB courtesy of Andy G0IBN, along with Morse Key and SDR demos. Outside, Chris G0IPU coordinated more radio courtesy of a pump-up mast as well as Radio Control Cars

Andy G0IBN is operating GX0MWT at the left. Two large monitors provide a readable display of the operating log from one PC, whilst another runs an SDR-demo with scrolling Powerpoint display. A separate table had a compact version of Colin G0TRMs Morse Key demo/display (as the usual spot upstairs was hosting an astronomy and rocket display)
